By looking at the information you obtained as you developed empathy for your students, you now have an idea of what other information you need to gather in order to develop a solution.
Directions
Continue exploring to answer the questions you developed.
Consider the following questions to deepen your research:
What additional information might you need in order to support your students?
How might you ensure that the needs of all students are being met with a scaffold? (diversifying scaffolds)
What other scaffolds that you discovered might be valuable to your students?
Define the Problem
Discuss all of the needs/issues that your students face with the problem in mind.
Identify the criteria and constraints.
Consider the following as you look at the information you have obtained:
What issue rises to the top as the most important?
Which issue is solvable?
Which issue can you address in the time frame you have?
Create a short conversation between yourself and your principal. The conversation should include sharing one thing you have discovered from your research.
